Recommended no more than once a year. This is because heavily scratched pieces go through a rigorous process of filing & multiple grits of sanding which removes the outer layer of the metal. Doing this too often will thin out and compromise your jewelry. Also a reason to avoid wearing your jewelry when doing physical activities with your hands.
